Poppy Bishop from Kent County Council will be running a textile gift wrapping workshop using discarded textiles. She’ll show you how to wrap presents in fabric, such as an old scarf, a bandana, a tea towel or an offcut, rather than buying single-use wrapping paper, much of which can’t be recycled once it has glitter, foil or tape on it.
Textiles are one of the most common wrong items found in Kent’s kerbside recycling bins, where they get caught in the sorting machinery. Fabric gift wrap keeps them out of the bin and can be used again and again.
So come along, see the demo, pick up Poppy’s textile gift wrap leaflet and take home some wrapping inspiration for the festive season.
