Alongside the September Repair Cafe, we are bringing together the Arts in Maidstone to think about how we represent our interactions with the natural world and our environment. As usual we are looking to create an open, interesting creative space for Maidstone, where visitors can find out about what Maidstone has to offer. Exhibitors can network and support each other.

Cas Holmes – Visible Mending
Cas Holmes is an artist and writer of Romani descent who works from her studio in Kent. She is interested in the liminal, ‘in between’ spaces connecting land, people and places. Trained in fine art, her work combines mixed media with found materials and stitch and is best described as ‘painting with cloth’. The history and familiarity of worn cotton, linen and paper mark the passing of time informing the narratives contained within the work.

CJS Garden Enhancements
Production of hand made & bespoke garden furniture from tables & benches to various planters & novelty items. They are hand crafted using traditional joinery methods & joints and reclaimed timber is often used.
All timber is given a protective treatment as part of the service where necessary.
