One of the roles of the Service Pharmacist is supporting our sustainability and developing frameworks to help make our pharmacies more environmentally responsible, in line with our Green Pharmacy ambitions. This includes promoting the safe return and disposal of unused medicines, reducing waste, and supporting initiatives that minimise the environmental impact of pharmacy services.
We are very interested in the opportunity to participate in the Re-use and Recycling Zone at the Repair Cafe on 2nd May 2026. The theme aligns closely with our work around encouraging patients to return unwanted or expired medicines to pharmacies for safe disposal, helping to prevent medicines from being placed in domestic waste or flushed into wastewater systems
