Collecting for End Polio Now and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative.
Rotary started the End Polio Now inoculation campaign in 1985 and, following WHO taking the lead in polio eradication in 1988, remains the largest private sector source of funding and volunteers. With double-match-funding from the Gates Foundation any donation goes a long way. In 1985 there were 350,000 new cases of polio every year (about 1 every 90 seconds); now there are a handful but we have to finish the job or the disease will bounce back!
